Association for the Preservation of Clear Lake

The Association for the Preservation of Clear Lake (APCL) is a group of private citizens dedicated solely to the protection and enhancement of North Iowa’s most valuable natural resource – Clear Lake.

To complete our important work, we collaborate with many entities including the cities of Clear Lake and Ventura, counties of Cerro Gordo and Hancock, and Soil & Water Conservation Districts of Cerro Gordo and Hancock counties. In addition, we work closely with the Iowa Department of Natural Resources, the CLEAR Project, and more.

Although many large and small projects completed over the last 20 years have greatly improved the water quality in Clear Lake, our work to educate the public and help protect the lake will never really be done.  Please join us in our efforts to preserve and enhance this precious natural resource.
